Desuperheaters

Copes Vulcan desuperheaters are offered in a variety of designs, with turndown ratios from 2:1 up to and thru 100:1. Final steam temperature can be maintained to within 5 % of saturation, depending on model type. A desuperheater selection matrix is provided in the following PDF showing models physical and performance specifications.

Steam Atomizing Desuperheater

Steam Atomizing Desuperheater

The steam atomizing desuperheater utilizes higher pressure steam to bombard the coolant water creating a fine mist requiring no thermal liner in the pipe. Turndown is up to 25:1 with varying load, and temperature control is within 15 deg F of saturation.
